As well as gender, cross cutting expertise includes human rights, child protection, project design, strategic planning and capacity building. RCG’s comprehensive approach to capacity building includes institutional capacity development, implementing training needs assessments, designing and conducting direct training and training of trainer programmes, post-training follow-up, on-the-job mentoring and evaluation.

RCG's work comprises four inter-related strands, outlined below along with key focus areas within these strands.
