UN Pacific Fund on Violence against Women
The UN Pacific Fund in Support of Actions to Eliminate Violence against Women was established in March 2009 and is managed by UN Women on behalf of the UN system.
It is the only small grant mechanism exclusively devoted to supporting local and national efforts to end violence against women and girls in the Pacific region.
Recognising the importance and potential of the Pacific Fund, the Australian International Agency for International Development (AusAID) recently agreed an additional contribution of AUD 5.3 million.
This increased funding allowed for multi-year planning and the development of a comprehensive but practical M&E framework.
RCG’s Gender and Social Protection Specialist, Rebecca Miller, is drafting the overall M&E strategic framework which will not only assist in improving fund outcomes,
but also add considerably to the knowledge base on ending violence against women.
